  I am facing foreclosure; in an effort to save my house, I am contemplating chapter 13. Once the mortgage company initiated the foreclosure process, I received several "Legal Advertisements." One of the solicitations came from the law offices of E. Michael Vereen III. From the return address, I noticed that his office was close by...so I called to make an appointment. Meghan, a member of his office staff, was very friendly; after we set the appointment up, she also called me back to see if I had a moment to speak directly with Mr. Vereen. I was VERY impressed when his office took that measure! Once Mr. Vereen came on the phone, he asked me about my debts. When I told him that I didn't want to file 7, but 13 instead, he raised his voice and said that I couldn't afford it. My understanding about 13 is, I would be able to pay a trustee and perhaps, my house payment could be lowered. Mr. Vereen, hung up on me before I could even ask any further questions. I was very offended...obviously, I was just another potential client ($$$$) and when I didn't want to file 7 (which is much more expensive than 13 in legal fees) he was no longer interested in "helping" me! Mr. Vereen - You are a selfish, arrogant, and heartless person. You do not deserve to practice law....or even have a job. Now, I wouldn't even hire you to clean my toilet! You deserve to struggle and face ALL of the financial hardships that the rest of us face day in and day out.
